We are not just color pickers.
The Blackbird Design Resources team will not just work with your client to select finish and then hand you a finish schedule and legend. We become an integral part of the design team contributing to the work as much as you want—saving your team’s time.
Having a strong Design Development set, including interior finishes and design elements, helps ensure that the budget is safe. We know the information that needs to be included in the DD set to ensure early cost estimating takes all intentions into account. We know if things show up in CDs that were not in the DD set, they will likely eventually be VE’d.
In addition to the traditional tasks in Design Development, our capabilities include complete construction documents utilizing AutoCad or Revit. We have routinely been involved in casework, interior elevations, RCPs, accessory schedules, door schedules, casework sections, full written specifications for most of Division 9 as well as others falling into the interior design realm in division 6, 10, and 12.
Blackbird Design Resources will ensure they are familiar with the entire drawings set and design intentions so there are no conflicts between us, the outside consultant, and you the design leader.
The team at BDR can remain involved during Bidding and Construction Administration participating in addenda, as-designed drawings, submittals, RFIs and punch lists.
Do you spend too much time in CA dealing with interior related issues?
Having an experienced and detailed oriented interior designer on your team will help decrease the problems and extras during CA. Dare we say, even eliminate? We accept the challenge.
Do you already have an in-house interior designer?
That’s okay. Blackbird Design Resources is not attempting to take work away from other designers. We love our community of interior designers in Fort Wayne. And because of that, we want to see them all thrive!
